Human rights in the Inter-American system. Compilation of instruments. 2014 edition

As with the previous editions, the source of information for the publication has been the Organization of the American States. Websites of the Department of the International Law, the General Assembly, the Permanent Council, the Inter-American Commission of Women, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights and the Inter-American Court of Human rights were also consulted.

We hope that this new edition keeps contributing to the diffusion of the norms and institutions that constitute the Inter-American System of protection of human rights. Moreover, we wish that it facilitates for different stakeholders—from civil society, academicians, and public officials—the understanding of the inalienable rights of everyone who lives in the continent and the corresponding state obligations. In this regard, we aspire to contribute to a more effective system of protection, able to guarantee the fundamental rights of everybody.
