We especially value enthusiasm, willingness to learn, contribute, and innovate in a collaborative environment committed to justice and human rights.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Current student or recent graduate in Law or a related field<\/li>\n<li>Excellent command of Spanish and English (spoken and written)<\/li>\n<li>Strong writing, research, and analytical skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work collaboratively and under supervision<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the Inter-American and UN human rights systems<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with gender and human rights issues<\/li>\n<li>Ability to collect, produce, and analyze data<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Previous experience with non-governmental organizations is valued, but most importantly, we are looking for a strong commitment to human rights.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\nAs an intern in this area, you will be actively involved in tasks related to research on women&#8217;s participation and representation in international bodies, drafting documents and proposals aligned with the Campaign\u2019s strategies, producing and updating relevant data, and maintaining the list of vacancies in international bodies monitored by GQUAL, among other related activities.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants should be willing to participate in shared tasks and collaborative processes with the broader intern team, which will be defined collectively according to the team\u2019s evolving needs.<\/p>\n<p>The internship will last for three months and can be completed either in person at CEJIL\u2019s office in Washington, DC, or remotely, depending on the team\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n<p>By the end of the internship, you will have developed a comprehensive understanding of women\u2019s participation and representation in international decision-making bodies, as well as practical experience working within a non-governmental organization.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sobre GQUAL<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>GQUAL es una campa\u00f1a global que trabaja para alcanzar y sostener la paridad de g\u00e9nero en los espacios de toma de decisi\u00f3n internacional con foco en la justicia. Desde su lanzamiento en 2015, GQUAL ha contribuido a visibilizar la subrepresentaci\u00f3n de las mujeres en espacios clave de representaci\u00f3n internacional y ha impulsado la b\u00fasqueda y propuesta de soluciones mediante la articulaci\u00f3n con diversos actores, incluyendo Estados, organizaciones internacionales, sociedad civil y academia. La Declaraci\u00f3n GQUAL, que establece las estrategias centrales de la Campa\u00f1a, ha sido firmada por m\u00e1s de 1.000 personas destacadas de m\u00e1s de 90 pa\u00edses, entre ellas jefas y jefes de Estado, juezas y jueces internacionales, abogadas y abogados, diplom\u00e1ticas y diplom\u00e1ticos, acad\u00e9micas y acad\u00e9micos y activistas.<\/p>\n<p>Ante la ausencia de mujeres en los \u00f3rganos y mecanismos que conforman la justicia internacional, la campa\u00f1a busca cambiar de manera permanente las reglas y procesos que actualmente determinan qui\u00e9nes son nominados y elegidos para ocupar estos cargos, promoviendo la paridad de g\u00e9nero como un criterio esencial en dichas selecciones. Esto implica impulsar cambios tanto a nivel nacional \u2014en las instancias donde los Estados deciden las nominaciones\u2014 como a nivel internacional, donde se llevan a cabo los procesos de votaci\u00f3n y selecci\u00f3n. La campa\u00f1a tambi\u00e9n busca promover el debate sobre las causas y efectos de la subrepresentaci\u00f3n, as\u00ed como facilitar el acceso de un mayor n\u00famero de mujeres a estos cargos, generando informaci\u00f3n, herramientas y oportunidades de articulaci\u00f3n con otras redes para hacerlo posible.<\/p>\n<p>En sus objetivos, la campa\u00f1a se inspira en y contribuye al movimiento feminista m\u00e1s amplio que lucha contra la discriminaci\u00f3n que a\u00fan impide el acceso de las mujeres a posiciones clave de toma de decisiones. En ese sentido, GQUAL es una iniciativa que busca contribuir a un acceso m\u00e1s igualitario de las mujeres \u2014especialmente aquellas del Sur Global\u2014 a algunos de los cargos clave donde se forma y desarrolla la pol\u00edtica y el derecho internacional.<\/p>\n<p>La campa\u00f1a es una iniciativa auspiciada por el Centro por la Justicia y el Derecho Internacional (CEJIL), organizaci\u00f3n que act\u00faa como su patrocinador fiscal.
