Knowledge of English is a plus<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Excellent writing skills<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ability to analyze political and social issues<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Knowledge of the political and social context in Central America and Mexico is preferred<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Previous experience in NGOs is a plus<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Job Description<\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The advocacy internship is based in the San Jos\u00e9, Costa Rica office. Interns collaborate under the supervision of the advocacy team; monitor the national, regional, and international contexts; and design advocacy strategies towards state and non-state actors, with a focus on Mexico and Central America.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Their responsibilities include a wide range of tasks, such as:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Monitoring the human rights situation in the region<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Researching and systematizing information<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Writing analytical documents based on CEJIL\u2019s cases and priority areas<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coordinating and participating in meetings and conferences<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reviewing and translating institutional documents and publications<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Performing basic administrative tasks when required<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Objective<\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the end of the internship, the advocacy interns will have a comprehensive understanding of the Inter-American Human Rights System and the current human rights situation in Latin America.
