CEJIL Celebrates the First Sentence in Guatemala on Forced Disappearances
The Center for Justice and International Law (CEJIL) celebrates the first sentence in Guatemala on forced disappearances. On August 31st the Criminal Court of First Instance in the city of Chimaltenango convicted and sentenced former military commissioner, Felipe Cusanero, to 150 years in prison for the forced disappearances of six peasants from the town of Choatalum, between 1982 and 1984.
